Construction Entities

When drawing on a drawing board frequently a hard pencil is used to set up the position and detail of a drawing before the final lines are `inked in'. These lines and arcs which are not intended to be read as part of the finished drawings, are the equivalent of Caddie Professional's construction entities.

Caddie has a whole range of construction entities available under two primary commands - Construction Lines and Construction Circles. Construction entities appear in the drawing as broken entities - the lines running right through the drawing and the circles being complete. Construction entities are entered as part of the current pattern - hence if  the pattern is moved the construction entities will move too.

Construction entities can be deleted individually by using the delete construction object command or they can all be deleted together using the delete all construction command.

The colour of construction lines can be set, using any of the fifteen colours available under the standard Caddie Professional colour palette and any combination of colours can be used within the drawing.  Set construction object colour

Although construction entities are held in patterns that may also contain other entity types, they can be globally switched off so that the drawing may be viewed without them. There is a toggle switch on the SCOPE tool bar for switching them on and off. By default construction entities are not plotted - they are purely an aid to drafting, however individual plotting properties can be set by using the property dialogue found on the snap menu.
