PDF Underlays with dedicated Snaps:

File > Insert > Insert PDF Underlay: Insert, Scale and Trace over PDF Underlays with dedicated SNAP mode to make using 3rd Party PDFs simple.

AEC and Associative Dimensions:

Select Wall > Right-Click CSM (Context Sensitive Menu) > Add AEC Dimension: Dimensions just got associative, making drawing changes simple and reducing errors. Plus Auto AEC Dimensions takes the slog out of adding 'Dims' by automatically adding dimensions when Doors, Windows and Openings are added to Walls.

Mouse Button Setup - Double Click Right and Left Button is user defined:

Configure > Mouse Button Setup enables you to map a command when an object is double clicked. When the Left or Right Double Click is set to User Defined you can assign a command to the specific object type. For example, left double-click on text to open the text editor; left double-click on sheet viewports to take you directly to the Modelspace area, double click on a dimension to continue the dimension etc..

Similar Object Selection:

Now you can select objects of a specific type in the drawing by Selecting an Object then pressing Shift + A.

Modelspace – Viewports:

You can add a number of Viewports in the Modelspace with the Right-click CSM (Context Sensitive Menu) > Viewports function. This can reduce your navigation time on your 2D drawings, especially when working with large drawings. Setting different views and visual styles in the different Modelspace viewports can speed up your 3D drawing projects as well. You can specify the colour of the active viewport border and Viewports can be nested as well as Viewport arrangements saved for fast retrieval.

Sheet – Viewports:

Viewport positions can be shown in the modelspace as virtual rectangles or a polygon objects. If polygon objects are changed, they can be moved and resized and the changes synchronized back to the sheet. When showing viewport positions in the modelspace the layering can automatically be set to match the viewport. A command has been added to revert viewport scale and target back to their previous settings in case they are changed in error when editing through the viewport.

Context Toolbar:

You can now customise the Context Toolbar to include your commands to improve your productivity. You can reposition the toolbar by clicking on the edge of the toolbar and moving it to the desired position. Configure > Configure Context Toolbar.

Multiple Annotation Representations:

Setting multiple representations of annotative finishes for multi scales by object will prevent duplication of the objects. Use Configure > Environment Settings > Annotative Objects > Show all annotative reps when selected to switch it on. Toggle between the different scales and move the control point of the representation of the active scale. Use the grips to move just one representation and the move command to move them all.

Referenced Symbols – Changing the Path from Absolute to Relative:

Changing the referenced symbol path from Absolute to Relative enables you to move a set of drawings from your current drive to a different drive that uses the same folder structure. It also solves the sharing of drawings via cloud networking. CSM > Ref Symbol… Convert Absolute Path to Relative Path..

Hyperlinks:

You can add hyperlinks to your drawing. These hypertext links can point to external files (video, voice instructions, and specifications) or webpages.

ARC Circumference:

The Draw > The Arc/Circl command has been enhanced to allow you to specify the length of the circumference. Simply choose Option L and enter the length of the circumference required.

Clone:

Historically we have been using the ParGet/Set and Edit functions with limited properties and object types, but the Clone command allows you to address the properties of all the object types. For instance, when you clone a polyline, the specific properties open/closed, constant width, thickness and line scale are also available..

Leaders:

A time saving feature is the addition of entering text while you insert leader lines. Simply press A to add text for the leader. Note: Moving the control point of the leader will move only the leader; moving the text control point will move the leader and the text. Leaders can now be created from arrow to tail, or from tail to arrow.

Major Catalogue Enhancements:

The enhancements to the Catalog in Caddie 22 elevate the Catalog from being just a fast way to import 'Symbols' to being the fastest way to access favourite pre-configured Tools, Blocks, Materials and more. With major additions to the pre-drawn content libraries including both 2D and 3D Window (DWA Styles), Wall Styles, Kitchen cabinets, Lighting, and Materials to count just a few, the Caddie Catalog is now the go to resource for anyone wanting to speed up the drawing and modelling process. Add Tools, Lighting or Materials to the Catalogue. Click on the properties box to set different catalogue options. Right-click on the different components of the Catalogue to see the new and enhanced options which include: Icon size, Enable / Disable Tabs, Show / Hide Text, and enhanced control of user defined icons and Palette identification with prefixing palette file names with the palette name. Simplified copying of the Catalogue from one workstation to another: Copy the contents of the folder: C:\ProgramData\Caddie\Caddie22 (x64)\Catalog\WorkspaceCatalog and using either winzip or winrar, transfer to the corresponding folder on the next workstation..

Levels:

The power of using Levels extends far beyond the 3D environment. The basic functionality was implemented in Caddie 21 with the introduction of Elevation, Elevation Height, Cut Plane, Custom UCS and Layer Group. The improved Levels functionality in Caddie 22 gives you the tools to build an intelligent sequence of reactions to take place. The added options are Display Configuration, An Option to Overwrite it and View. This will result in smaller drawings, faster navigation, saving, printing and more. This is beneficial to ALL disciplines, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical, Surveying or Architectural. Note: Change the Floor/Story Suffix – Configure > Environment Settings> Levels > Floor/Storey Suffix.

SANS Calculations:

Great news for people with older 2D drawings is that Caddie 22 now allows you to do SANS fenestration calculations directly from these drawings. Use the Draw > Windows Doors and Openings > Create NON-Anchored Windows / Create NON-Anchored Doors to add the 2D windows and doors to the fenestration calculation. Another enhancement is the option to use existing polylines, polygons or spaces (press E on the keyboard) when indicating the areas.

Perspective Cameras:

Camera symbols can be enabled using the Utilities -> System -> Set System Variable: CAMERADISPLAY (set it to true or 1). Whenever a perspective view is saved a camera symbol is inserted into the drawing. Selecting the camera symbol allows control of the view (with grips and object properties) including repositioning, view angle, front and back clipping distances etc..

Scheduling:

Sub-totals have been added to schedule tables to further enhance the detailed extraction of information direct from your drawings.

Tables:

Table styles have been enhanced for greater flexibility and faster editing.

Time Tracker:

Time tracker has been enhanced to allow for different user and role permissions enabling better control of who can access what information in the office.

Online Learning:

Help > E-Learning command is added to the Help dropdown toolbar to directly access the new online learning environment to help you incorporate the latest Caddie enhancements into your workflow.

User Interface:

The user interface has been upgraded to allow for changes made by Microsoft to Windows 10, helping to ensure you have the best Caddie experience, ever.
