Caddie Licensing Changes from 1st September 2018

 

Changes to Caddie Licensing

New Caddie Licences

From 1st September all new Caddie licences sold will be time limited licences providing access to the latest version of Caddie and all the Caddie support services.  At the end of the licenced period there will be an option to purchase a time limited licence renewal which will continue to provide access to the latest version of Caddie and Caddie support services as when the licence was originally purchased.

Existing Caddie Perpetual Licences

Existing Caddie Perpetual licences that are maintained contiguously will continue as perpetual licences with access to the latest version of Caddie and the Caddie support services.

Caddie perpetual licences that are not maintained by 31st August 2018 will have the perpetual licence frozen to the version for which it licenced, with no option to restart maintenance.  It will be possible to purchase a 12-month time limited licence renewal, giving you access to the latest version of Caddie and all our support services, however, if at the end of the 12-month period the licence is allowed to lapse, the time limited Caddie licence will cease.  The perpetual licence for the version at which the licence was frozen will continue to operate, but any later versions of the software will be suspended.

How this affects you as a Caddie Perpetual Licence* holder

If you restart your Caddie Maintenance

Restart your Caddie Maintenance by 31st August 2018, your perpetual licence will automatically be upgraded to Caddie 24 (when it is launched around September) and you will have access to support and upgrades. While you keep your licence maintained, your perpetual licence will be automatically upgraded to the current version of Caddie.

If you do not renew your Caddie Maintenance

If you do not restart by 31st August 2018, you will no longer have the option to restart your maintenance and your perpetual licence will be frozen at the version for which it is currently licenced.

You will have the opportunity to purchase a 12-month, time limited licence renewal, giving you access to the latest version of Caddie and all our support services.  If at the end of the 12 months, your licence renewal is allowed to lapse, your Caddie 23 will continue to function (because it is a perpetual licence), however any later versions on that licence will be suspended.

*Caddie licences that have reached end of life are not eligible for upgrades or licence restart / renewal.

Will the licence for my current Caddie version stop working?

No, since your Caddie licence is a perpetual licence, you can rest assured that whether you decide to restart maintenance now or defer it and purchase a time limited licence renewal at some point in the future, you can continue to use the version of Caddie for which you are licenced currently for as long as it is compatible with your hardware and operating system.
