Q. Could you describe for us the nature of your practice / business and the type of projects you work on?
A. A small architectural/ planning consultants practice dealing with predominantly residential work with a small amount of commercial work. Projects range from home extensions to small housing developments and flats.
Q. What advantages are there for you in using Caddie, and what benefits do you feel Caddie has brought to your life and business?
A. Mainly speed and quality of presentation. The majority of my "competitors" are working with CAD and it has become the standard that Planning Offices and Committees now expect. Caddie has improved my efficiency and methods of working. I now enjoy drawing again, having got bored with working by hand for some 30 years. No more sketches and timely re-draws and razor- blading tracing sheets to destruction with numerous changes by awkward Clients.
Q. What kind of problems or frustrations were you having before you bought Caddie?
A. I just that I felt that I was getting left behind and needed to drag myself into the 21st Century!
Q .Why did you choose Caddie over the alternatives?
A. Primarily the fact that it was architecturally specific and had many short cuts that relate directly to my everyday work. My research had revealed that many of the alternatives were very complex and had functions that I would never ever use. Caddie is simple to use once you get tuned in and I actually approach my drawing in a very similar way that I would have with a pencil and pen.
Q .In what ways do you feel that you made the right decision?
A. From a professional and business point of view, probably the best decision I ever made.
Q. How would you describe the support you get for your Caddie software and how do feel you benefit from this support?
A. The support is excellent. Just a shame that I nearly drove the support team to a nervous breakdown as I climbed the learning curve! I am sure they miss me now.
